Marcos accomplishment belongs to all of us. Thank you for your support!
Marcos has completed the first phase of the Swim Across the Continents project, uniting Oceania with Asia, from Papua New Guinea to Indonesia.
There’s a whole story behind this first triumph, much of which will be known through the wonderful pictures being taken and the high quality images being recorded on video, others won’t be able to be recreated, but we do hope that the legacy of this great effort of the many people who have supported us will be beneficial to the needs and challenges facing us all as citizens of one planet.
It took Marcos 4 hours, 18 minutes and 17 seconds to swim the 19.5 kilometers of distance. He arrived to shore safe and happy, a bit tired but very satisfied.
On shore he was welcomed by a crowd of people, all curious to see in person the man that is connecting the world for the Millennium Development Goals, who reminds us and invites us to acknowledge that we can come together and think beyond our own selves.
THANK YOU FOR SWIMMING IN THE DIFFERENT WAYS THAT YOU ARE DOING and for motivating us to believe that this is possible.
